Would you like to join our Children's Council for Music?
Hey, are you between the ages of 8 and 12 and love music and performances? Are you someone with a clear opinion? And do you live in (the vicinity of) Amsterdam? Then we are looking for you!
Youth music company Oorkaan is looking for members for the Children's Music Council.
You get together with a group of peers a few times a year to visit performances and rehearsals and share your opinion about them with the director and the artists. Thanks to your opinion we can make the performance even better and more fun! We also ask you to think along about, for example, the title of a new performance and the content of the program booklet.You may go backstage and meet the artists at special events (such as premieres). You may also ask questions of the audience.
This is your chance for a peek into the professional world of music and performing arts!Oorkaan will arrange transportation, equipment and, of course, your VIP pass.

About Oorkaan and the Children's Council for Music
Youth music company Oorkaan performs theatrical concerts for young audiences with professional musicians. Like a concert, an Oorkaan performance is (almost) without words and there are only musicians on stage. Oorkaan wants to make classical music from all over the world, past and present, accessible to all children. A mission we cannot accomplish without the input of our young target audience! Oorkaan is therefore starting a Children's Council for Music.
The Children's Council for Music consists of a group of children between the ages of 8 and 12. Everyone is welcome, regardless of gender, background, religion, or disability. The Children's Council for Music will meet a few times a year under the leadership of the Children's Council project leader, who guides, questions and challenges the children to think critically. These moments of reflection are very valuable to us and we include them in the further process of creating our performances. We believe that the input of the Children's Council for Music can also be very valuable in other areas, such as in the creation of our educational material and our workshops.
