Oorkaan at the Takeover festival (Festspielhaus Baden-Baden)

What will the festival of the future look like? What is the young audience interested in in 2022? The new Takeover festival of Festspielhaus Baden-Baden will explore this! Oorkaan is also performing at the festival with Whoop Whoop(s)! with the Oorkaan Ensemble and a two-day workshop with the makers and musicians of Whoop Whoop(s)!.

Saturday 5 February 2022 – In the spotlight: two-day workshop with the makers and musicians of Vier! – 11:00  – 16:00 
You will be trained in making music and acting, in order to be part of the performance of Whoop Whoop(s)! on Sunday. Do you dare to enter our wonderland and jump down the rabbit hole? The workshop will be given in English. Previous experience with an instrument is a plus, but not a requirement.

WHAT DOES ‘TOGETHER’ SOUND LIKE?
Party time! But you stumble, fall and plunge your face into a pie. You get up, wipe the whipped cream from your eyes, and… you see a new world around you. Music fills your ears. It comes closer. Four musicians are playing happily, hoppingly, stumblingly. They celebrate something, together. Because they’re together, they’re in a festive mood!  

The newly founded Oorkaan Ensemble consists of four top musicians. They combine different cultures and musical traditions, while playing a staged concert. The story they tell is based on the music they play. In this case, that’s quite the journey! Starting and ending, like all stories that are worthwhile: at the party!
