Glimpse

How does it sound?

What does color sound like?
Who can understand the moon? What does the sun say?
Which sounds lower, a bass or a drum?
How many colors does a dream have?

Glimpse takes you to an enchanting dream world, in which jazzy sounds and colorful images play an exciting game with each other and with you. A music performance for toddlers and their (grand)parents in which music, images, technology, musicians and the public form a special friendship.

Awards

Glimpse has the YAMA Young Audiences Music Awards 2015 for 'best production of the year' and 'best small ensemble'. The jury of the YAMawards on Glimp:

“A magical production for 2-4 year olds that integrates light and visuals in the most extraordinary way. Masterfully played, the performance maintains an exemplary balance between the music, its graphic elements and the interaction with the children Their primary role as excellent jazz musicians is never overshadowed by the visuals, rather, it gives the audience a new way to relate and explore a world of music and sounds.”

“The great thing about this performance is how the children are involved in the game of discovery. (…) Within these frameworks, work is done towards a beautiful final image, where the projection turns the bass drum yellow like a full moon, and the children imagine themselves in the middle of the universe. There is no better feeling to walk out of the room with.”
