Program Change: The festive performance *Vijf!* replaces *Vogelkind* and *Mammoetboom*

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Bird Child and Mammoth Tree Unfortunately, that didn't happen.
But fortunately, there’s still plenty of music and imagination to enjoy thanks to a wonderful replacement: Five! carried out by our own Oorkaan Ensemble.

With Five!  The Oorkaan Ensemble is celebrating its fifth anniversary. Since its founding in 2021, the ensemble has performed successful productions such as Whoop Whoop(s), Gong and the four noses and Kantjil and the Tiger. To celebrate the anniversary, the very first production is returning as a festive remake, co-directed by Caecilia Thunnissen and Yorick Stam.

Five! is a cheerful, theatrical concert for everyone from 5 to 105 years, full of (un)recognizable sounds, movement, and humor. Longtime Oorkaan fans may still remember the show as Whoop Whoop(s), but for this special occasion, it has been given a fresh new look.

How does Five? Together! A blue one with a cape made of sleeves. A gray warrior with paper muscles. A mega-yellow magician, a red hundred-stringed musician, and of course, Guy! When they combine their special powers, a playful musical adventure full of fantasy, humor, and ensemble playing unfolds. The musicians take you on a journey through Turkish sounds, Mozart, and more, with music by W.A. Mozart, Fazıl Say, Steven Kamperman, Emre Sihan Kaleli, and others.

Five! It’s not only the name of the show and a reference to the Oorkaan Ensemble’s five-year anniversary, but also a show for everyone ages 5 and up. So in this anniversary year, all five elements come together—and of course, it ends with a party!
