Unknown Country

How does it sound?

After a long journey, she sets her suitcases on the icy mountain top with a thud. It is white and slippery here. This is her new home, but everything is different here. The sounds and smells, the seasons and even the way everyone moves. An egg with wings brings the mail by and peculiar neighbors sail up to her on the back of a large sea creature to come and make her acquaintance. Despite longing for her old home, she slowly discovers how everything works in this unknown land... Together with Oorkaan and Nordland Visual Theatre (NO), The Wooden House takes you into a world of live music and amazing images in the performance Unknown Land.

We collect lullabies from all corners of the world and countries in all dialects and mother tongues. For that, we need your help! What lullaby is sung to you? What song did your grandparents sing to their children? Let's hear it via our interactive world map on unknowncountry.org. You can record your song in the foyer of the theater, or at home via your phone or computer.
