WARRIOR- ASSAULT

To the performance Cello Warriors is linked to the educational project the Warrior Formation. This project is developed by Oorkaan in collaboration with the Cello Octet Amsterdam, the Cello Biennale, Prinses Christina Concours/ Classic Express and partners in the cities where the project takes place (Amsterdam, Zwolle, The Hague and Eindhoven). The Warrior Formation will take place at elementary school in neighborhoods where children are less likely to come into contact with classical music and will start during the Cello Biennale in Amsterdam.

The Warrior Storming is a project for grades 3 through 8 in which elementary schools are literally stormed by a cello guerrilla and the school is occupied for a day by the cello and cellists. The cellists "replace" the teachers, create a small performance with the children and introduce them to young talents in the Classic Express; the moving music hall of the Princess Christina Competition. The Warrior Formation is a continuation of previous editions with a completely new interpretation of the teaching material and the performance at school.
