Mr. Sax's Square

How does it sound?

WHAT DOES OUTDOOR MARCHING SOUND LIKE? Today we are going to march like a real brass band! That sounds festive, but what does it sound like when the brass band is tired, and no longer feels like marching down the street? Or if someone from the brass band gets a love letter, and the others are jealous? In Mr. Sax's Square a brass band plays in the little square where Mister Sax lives. Who that is, the quartet only finds out when the door to his mysterious cottage finally opens.

Mr. Sax's Square with the horns of the sparkling Ebonit Saxophone Quartet is a compelling musical pageant with lots of humor directed by Jochem Stavenuiter (mime theater group Bambie). With music by Ligeti, Ravel, Bach and Rossini, among others.

""Strength of the performance lies not only in the musical dialogue the players engage in on the floor with each other, but especially in the high degree to which this performance communicates with its young audience. With open and exciting perspectives, the children are regularly actively challenged to make sense of the music.""
