The final crown

There used to be lots of kings and queens. And they all wore a crown. Now there is only one crown left. And Mila, Miché and Veysel have to share it. But that's not so easy.

What special powers do you get when you put on the crown? What if the crown is too big? Or just too small? You take a selfie and see that that crown looks very strange on you. How should you actually behave when you are a king or queen? And what do your friends suddenly act crazy when you wear the crown

Using the crown as a symbol of power, director Wieger Meulenbroek uses humor and dynamics to let the young audience experience what status means. With funny situations and the most beautiful music, the three musicians take you inside how it feels to have power and how we treat each other.

For Orpheus Theater Apeldoorn's summer festival Kinderkaravaan 2026, Oorkaan and the Oorkaan Trio will create a family production to be performed outdoors in city parks in and around Apeldoorn in the Netherlands. 2026 is a Crowning Year for Oorkaan: Oorkaan will then celebrate its 25th anniversary and the Oorkaan Ensemble its 5th anniversary. The generous background and context of Apeldoorn with Palace of the Loo fits well with this Crown Year and this new production.
