Sparkling presentation of debut album Shimmering
On Friday, April 19, the Oorkaan Ensemble their debut album 'Shimmering, released at the end of 2023.' in RCO House, Amsterdam. A beautiful evening where together with partners from the field, friends and family toasted to this milestone of the Oorkaan Ensemble. The presentation is also the beginning of something very nice that we would like to share with you: the ensemble will also be playing (among others) the repertoire from the theatrical concerts Vier! and Gong en de vier neuzen for adult audiences! A special repertoire of works that at first glance are miles apart, but because of the way the ensemble plays, belong together as a matter of course.

Showcase Classical:NEXT in Berlin
Classical:NEXT presents showcases of artists and ensembles from around the world that are pushing boundaries and expanding the horizons of classical music. The Oorkaan Ensemble has been selected by the international jury for this!

The Oorkaan Ensemble will also play the day after their Classical:NEXT showcase during an exclusive get-together at the Dutch Embassy in Berlin! They will perform a short repertoire of Dutch composers there.

Board the New Music NOW Express on Composer's Day on June 15, 2024!
The bright red train departs from Amsterdam and crosses the country, with stops in Almere-Stad, Zwolle, Arnhem, Den Bosch and Utrecht. Each compartment will feature music by contemporary composers performed by the Oorkaan Ensemble, among others! Composer of the Netherlands Anne-Maartje Lemereis will write a connecting composition to be performed in all cities by the Oorkaan Ensemble, which will travel with the train all day.
