The Verb(l)azing

How does it sound?

What does a wheel sound like? Beppe scurries around the stage, among a cheerful collection of home, garden and kitchen utensils. Beppe is a sound inventor. He conjures music out of everything he comes across. And not just any music! Out of the chaos emerge classical masterpieces. The musicians of the Eolian Ensemble first turn their noses up at the strange snout, but eventually they fervently blow along with Beppe.

The Verb(l)zing is a surprising musical performance featuring music by Sweelinck, Bach, Pachelbel, Ligeti and Hindemith, among others, and, of course, Beppe Costa.
A co-production of Oorkaan and Orkater.
Premiere: Sunday, May 9, 2009, Concertgebouw Amsterdam.
Last played on Sunday, June 14, 2009.
