World premiere Cambur Pin-Tón with the Tocuyito Trio: new direction by Caecilia Thunnissen

On Saturday, March 16, 2024, the new production of Jeunesse and Oorkaan ‘Cambur Pin-Tón' will premiere at the Wiener Konzerthaus! "Cambur Pin-Tón," which means 'ripe banana' in Venezuelan, is a colorful and dancing journey with explosive rhythms and exotic soundscapes. Inspiration for this theatrical concert, is the rich Venezuelan culture and nature, with mysterious mountains and stories of magical wenches, which is expressed through the music.

Cambur Pin-Tón is a new direction by Caecilia Thunnissen with piano trio Tocuyito Trio. This Venezuelan ensemble, which lives and works in Vienna, is Jeunesse's "Featured Ensemble" this season and previously attended the Jeunesse Hurricane Academy.

Joseph Avilia (pianist of the Tocuyito Trio) on the Jeunesse-Oorkaan-Academy: "For me, participating in the Jeunesse Hurricane Academy was the perfect introduction to a world of creative possibilities in which I now feel at home. It broadened my professional outlook and gave me extra pleasure in making music."

About the Tocuyito Trio

About the Tocuyito Trio

"Our trio is colorful, virtuosic and joyful.", highlight violinist Dalina, pianist Joseph and cellist Santo, who has been completing the ensemble since the summer of 2023. As Jeunesse's featured ensemble in the 2023-2024 season, the Tocuyito Trio brings the rhythm of homeland Venezuela to Jeunesse - for parents, babies, children and all curious music fans.

Dalina, Santo and Joseph grew up with the folk music of their homeland, which still brings anecdotes and images to life for them today:"the vastness of the Llanos, the savannas of Venezuela, the heat of the Caribbean coast, the fog in the Andes or the air of Caracas.”
