Oorkaan in awards! 🎉

Last summer, Oorkaan was nominated for the 6th time for the international YAMawards 2024 for Viva Banana (formerly Cambur Pin-Tón). This theatrical concert by Oorkaan and Jeunesse, featuring the Tocuyito Trio, is directed by Caecilia Thunnissen and is made according to the Oorkaan Method.

As the icing on the cake, to our surprise, on Thursday, Nov. 28, this year's edition of the event was announced. the Karel Leentjes Award awarded the most impactful educational performance of school year 2023-2024 for the performance "Romeo and Juliet." This theatrical concert featuring music by Tchaikovsky, is a production of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Oorkaan and the Royal Concertgebouw Amsterdam directed by Caecilia Thunnissen. Adeline van Campen, head of education, initiated this successful production by Philsouth adopt.

❤️ We are honored by this appreciation and would like to express our thanks to everyone who made Romeo and Juliet a great success last year. And we look forward to reviving this production again in November 2025 and playing it in theaters and concert halls in Brabant and Limburg.
