The Little Santa Claus
How does it sound?
Every year Little Santa is the first to finish making and wrapping his presents. And yet he never gets to go with the big Santa Clauses to deliver all the presents to the children. Because he is too small. Even the children are bigger than Little Santa, say the big Santa Clauses. And his sleigh is just a fiddly sleigh, they think. So Little Santa is left alone....
Little Santa is inspired by the children's books of Anu Strohner, with drawings by Henrike Wilson and music by Toek Numan. Narrator Joep Onderdelinden, the four musicians and director Wil van der Meer together created this joyful and touching Christmas performance.
Premiere: Saturday, December 13, 2008 at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam.
Last played December 30, 2015.
